Author, Game Designer, Classics Enthusiast

I’m a young author from Southern California currently pursuing a joint honours in Classics and English at the University of Oxford’s Trinity College. I enjoy fine dining, RPGs, anime, classical literature, and mythology. One of my greatest joys when writing is constructing complex, intimate relationships between my characters, their world, and the reader. Outside of my studies, if I’m not working on my latest novel draft or short story, I’m busy exploring the medium of video games as a platform for creating dynamic new narrative experiences.

About

I’m a young writer still in the early stages of my career. Upon leaving high school, I decided to fly across America and the Atlantic to study a dead language and read ancient texts at the University of Oxford, all in the hopes of discovering new inspiration from the myths and stories of ages past. I’m interested not only in how these ideas manifest throughout generations of traditional literature, but also how they can be translated to the interactive digital media of the modern era.

My initial experience with creative writing was quite personal, sprouting from novels I drafted for my eyes alone. However, I soon started sharing my work with my family, which led to an acknowledgement of my passion and a desire to learn more. Thus, I was driven to participate in various workshops, honing my skills with feedback and critique until I finally managed to get my first short story published.

Before leaving for university, I made an effort to give back to my community with the help of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove. As the facilitator of their Student Author Program, I helped youths find and share their own voices, teaching them creative writing skills that culminated in the publication of their own children’s books. It was wonderful to see the joy of storytelling blossoming in these youths, just as it had for me.

These days, my rigorous studies keep me busy, while outside of term time I ply my skills in the realm of narrative design for video games. I still have a backlog of novel drafts and short story ideas I dream of completing and one day sending off into the world, the hopes of publication on their fluttering paper wings.
